Community Health Worker Institute

It is essential to establish and maintain equitable, impactful and sustainable partnerships with community and academic experts aligned with UF Health Jacksonville’s mission. Through the adoption of a collective impact model, the Alliance will lead organizational efforts, acting as the ‘backbone’, to empower community partners to affect change in policy, systems, and other structures directly influencing optimal health of community.

Home to a Community Health Worker Institute, the Alliance in partnership with UF Health Center for Health Equity and Engagement Research will train community members to serve as Community Health Workers not only on behalf of UF Health Jacksonville, but also for the greater good, providing a pipeline of trained community members who can lead and assist other social needs around the community. Through their training Community Health Worker Models will be empowered community members who will have a direct influence on health and the related social factors impacting health.
