Community Health Workers

It is essential to establish and maintain equitable, impactful and sustainable partnerships with community and academic experts aligned with UF Health Jacksonville’s mission. Through the adoption of a collective impact model, the Alliance will lead organizational efforts, acting as the ‘backbone’, to empower community partners to affect change in policy, systems, and other structures directly influencing optimal health of community.

UF’s office of Professional and Workforce Development is home to the Community Health Worker Registered Apprenticeship Program.  The Alliance, in partnership with the apprenticeship program, will train community members to serve as Community Health Workers as necessary in support of Alliance outreach efforts.  Through this training Community Health Workers will be empowered community members who will hone their passion and skills for the greater good and influence on health and wellbeing of the community.
